Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TextFight (the "Service"), available at textfight.io and operated by morpi ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Description of Service

TextFight is an AI-powered text battle arena game where players create fictional fighters described in text and battle them against other players' fighters. Battles are judged by artificial intelligence based on creativity, humor, and specificity. The Service includes fighter creation, matchmaking, AI-generated battle narratives, trait evolution, boss fights, bracket tournaments, leaderboards, coin purchases, ink passes, and related features.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use TextFight. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, you may not create an account or use the Service in any way.

If you are between 16 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

Account Registration

You may use TextFight as a guest or create a registered account via Google OAuth. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Use only one account per person — duplicate accounts may be terminated

Guest Accounts

Guest accounts provide temporary access to TextFight without registration. Guest accounts and all associated data (fighters, battle history, progress) are automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity. We are not responsible for any loss of data associated with guest accounts. To preserve your progress, convert your guest account to a registered account before it expires.

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes. This license does not include the right to: modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the Service; reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service; or use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.

User Content and Conduct

You are responsible for all content you create on TextFight, including fighter names and descriptions. You agree not to create content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory
• Contains hate speech, slurs, or content targeting protected groups
• Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene
• Infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights
• Impersonates any person or entity, or misrepresents your affiliation
• Contains personal information of others without their consent
• Is designed to exploit, harm, or deceive other players
• Attempts to manipulate the AI judging system through prompt injection or similar techniques

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account termination.

AI-Generated Content

Battle narratives and certain game elements are generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI and Google Gemini). By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is provided "as is" and may occasionally produce unexpected, inaccurate, inappropriate, or humorous results
• TextFight is not responsible for the specific content of AI-generated battle narratives
• AI battle outcomes are determined algorithmically and are final — we do not manually adjust individual battle results
• The AI judging criteria (creativity, humor, specificity) are designed to reward creative writing over power fantasies
• AI-generated battle narratives are part of the Service and you do not acquire independent intellectual property rights over AI-generated text
• Your fighter data (name, description, traits) is sent to third-party AI providers for processing. We do not send your personal information (email, real name) to AI providers

AI-Generated Portraits

When you request an AI-generated portrait, you authorize us to process your fighter data and any clarification answers with third-party AI services to generate the image.

Generated portraits, storage paths, and related metadata are stored as part of your character record so the Service can display the portrait across the game.

If you delete a character, the active portrait reference is removed, but previously generated portrait files may remain in public storage as audit artifacts.

Virtual Currency (TextFight Coins)

TextFight offers an optional virtual currency called "TextFight Coins" (or "Coins"). Coins are the only virtual currency used for optional in-game purchases in TextFight. By acquiring or using Coins, you agree to the following terms:

• Coins have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or refunded for real currency, credit, or any other form of monetary compensation
• Coins are non-refundable and non-transferable between accounts
• Coins represent a limited, revocable license to use a feature of the Service, not a property right or stored value
• Coins may be sold in the following tiers: Starter Spark (100 coins / $1.99), Fighter's Kit (550 coins / $4.99), Battle Crate (1,200 coins / $9.99), War Machine (2,800 coins / $19.99), and Legend's Hoard (7,500 coins / $49.99)
• We reserve the right to modify Coin values, pricing, exchange rates, and the items or features available for purchase with Coins, with reasonable notice
• Unused Coins may be forfeited upon account termination for violation of these Terms, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and your rights under local law
• We are not liable for any loss of Coins due to account termination, Service discontinuation, or technical issues

Ink Passes

Ink passes are optional, time-limited gameplay boosts purchased with Coins. They do not create a separate currency, do not auto-renew, and do not stack beyond their active duration.

• 1-hour Ink Passes cost 40 Coins and grant unlimited battles for one hour
• 24-hour Ink Passes cost 120 Coins and grant unlimited battles for 24 hours
• Ink Pass effects begin when the pass is activated and end when the timer expires
• Inactive or expired pass time cannot be banked, transferred, or converted into Coins

Purchases

TextFight offers optional in-game purchases. By making a purchase, you agree that:

• All payments are processed by FastSpring, our Merchant of Record, subject to FastSpring's terms of service and privacy policy
• You authorize FastSpring to charge your selected payment method for the purchase amount
• Purchases are subject to our Refund Policy. See /legal/refund for full details
• Ink passes are time-limited digital features and are not subscriptions

For EU users: You acknowledge that digital content, Coins, and Ink Passes are provided to you immediately upon purchase. For unused virtual currency, you may have a right of withdrawal within 14 days of purchase under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, subject to applicable exceptions for digital content that has been accessed or consumed.

Fair Play

TextFight is designed to be a fair and fun competitive game. You agree not to:

• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to play the game
• Exploit bugs or glitches for unfair advantage — please report them to us instead
• Attempt to manipulate ELO ratings through collusion, match-fixing, or intentional losing
• Create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages or circumvent restrictions
• Interfere with other players' ability to enjoy the game
• Engage in real-money trading (RMT) of accounts, fighters, coins, or any in-game items
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service

Intellectual Property

The TextFight name, logo, game design, user interface, software, and all original content are the property of morpi and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including Korean copyright law and international treaties.

You retain ownership of the fighter descriptions you create. However, by creating content on TextFight, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your user-generated content within the Service and for promotional purposes (for example, on public profiles, shared battles, leaderboards, and marketing materials).

You may revoke this license for promotional purposes by deleting your account. The license for in-Service use (e.g., existing shared battles and cached leaderboard data) may persist for a reasonable transition period after account deletion.

Copyright Infringement and Takedown Notices

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), the Korean Copyright Act, and the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).

If you believe that content on TextFight infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to textfight99@gmail.com with the subject line "Copyright Takedown Notice" including the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• A description of the infringing content and its location on TextFight (e.g., fighter name, battle URL, or username)
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf
• Your physical or electronic signature

Counter-notification: If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to textfight99@gmail.com with the subject line "Copyright Counter-Notice" including your contact information, identification of the removed content, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed in error, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Repeat infringers: We may terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to TextFight, other players, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion with reasonable notice.

Upon termination for cause (your violation): your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any unused Coins may be forfeited, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and your rights under local law.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon voluntary account deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: TextFight is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We are not liable for any loss of data, progress, fighters, coins, or other in-game items due to technical issues, maintenance, service updates, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

AI-generated content (battle narratives, outcomes) is provided without any warranty of accuracy, appropriateness, or fitness. Users should not rely on AI-generated content as factual information.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, morpi and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to TextFight in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) 50,000 Korean Won (KRW).

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including mandatory Korean consumer protection law or EU consumer protection law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless morpi and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) content you create on the Service. This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Before filing a formal legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at textfight99@gmail.com. We will attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation within 30 days.

Additional Terms for EU/EEA Users

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or European Economic Area, nothing in these Terms shall affect your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, including the right to bring legal proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

EU consumers have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. For digital content or services, this right may not apply once the digital content has been accessed or the service has commenced, provided you gave explicit prior consent and acknowledged the loss of withdrawal right. For unused virtual currency that has not been spent in-game, the 14-day withdrawal right may apply.

You may also seek resolution through the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Additional Terms for Korean Users

If you are a user residing in the Republic of Korea, you may file consumer complaints with the Korea Consumer Agency (kca.go.kr) or the Korea Fair Trade Commission (ftc.go.kr).

In the event of a conflict between the Korean-language version and the English-language version of these Terms, the Korean-language version shall prevail for Korean users once a Korean translation is made available.

These Terms comply with the Korean Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions. Any provision found to be unfair under Korean consumer protection law shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving the original intent.

Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms you agree to when using specific features of the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and morpi regarding the use of TextFight, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
